PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Thursday announced that it will decide on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Javed’s plea seeking the removal of his name from the Passport Control List (PCL) on March 25.
The hearing was conducted by a two-member bench comprising Justice Naeem Anwar and Justice Dr. Khurshid Iqbal.
The petitioner’s lawyer informed the court that Faisal Javed was taken off the plane going for Umrah. He was offloaded despite the court’s clear directives.
During the proceedings, the court inquired from Deputy Attorney General Sanaullah whether a response had been submitted in the case. The Deputy Attorney General informed the court that they had collected the comments but the office had objected. He said that they submitted their replay again.
The court stated that the case would be decided at the next hearing. The court, later, postponed the hearing until March 25.
It is pertinent to mention here that Faisal Javed was offloaded from the plane despite the PHC order to remove his name from the no-fly list.
Faisal had approached the PHC after being barred from traveling to Saudi Arabia for Umrah, despite his removal from the Exit Control List.
