KP police to install pink button to avert incidents of women harassments

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has decided to install pink buttons across the province using modern technology to protect women from harassment and provide immediate help. The aim of this initiative is to provide a safe and responsive environment for women.

‎According to the Central Police Office, in the first phase of this project, 68 pink buttons will be installed in Peshawar city, which will be placed in places where women move a lot, such as educational institutions, markets, bus stands and other public places.

‎‎According to officials, the pink buttons will be directly connected to the police control room. In any emergency, when a woman presses this button, not only the police will receive an immediate alert, but the video and voice of the complainant will also reach the control room directly, which will enable timely action.

‎The Central Police Office further said that these buttons will be used not only by women but also by other citizens. With the help of this modern system, the police will be able to respond quickly to incidents like street crime.

‎Police officials say that this initiative is a practical expression of the KP Police’s commitment to the safety of women. In the future, there is also a plan to expand this project to other districts of the province so that more citizens can benefit from this facility.
