ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif announced on Monday that Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq will be observed annually on May 10 to celebrate the remarkable success of Operation Bunyan Al Marsoos. The day will be marked nationwide with fervor and a spirit of national unity.
“The professional capabilities of our courageous armed forces have filled us with immense pride,” said the Prime Minister.
He also declared that Friday, May 16, 2025, will be observed as a day to honor the armed forces for their outstanding achievements on the defense front and to express gratitude to Allah. Special prayers will be offered on this day as part of Youm-e-Tashakur for the prosperity of the country and its people.
The Prime Minister outlined decisions aimed at supporting those affected by Indian attacks, including a Shuhada Package for the families of martyrs from Marka-e-Haq. The heirs of Pakistani citizens who lost their lives during the conflict will receive Rs 10 million, while the injured will be compensated with amounts ranging from Rs 1 million to Rs 2 million.
For the families of Pakistan Armed Forces martyrs, compensation will range from Rs 10 million to Rs 18 million, depending on rank. Additionally, they will be entitled to Rs 19 million to Rs 42 million for housing provisions. The families of the armed forces martyrs will continue to receive full salaries, including allowances, until the date of their retirement.
The children of armed forces martyrs will receive free education up to graduation. Furthermore, one daughter of each martyr will be granted Rs 1 million as a marriage grant.
For injured members of the armed forces, compensation will range from Rs 2 million to Rs 5 million.
The Prime Minister announced that the federal government will rebuild homes and mosques that were damaged during Indian attacks. “It is the government’s responsibility to care for the children of martyrs, and we will fulfill this duty,” he assured.
The government will also cover all medical expenses for the injured, he added. He further stated that anyone who contributed to the defense and dignity of Pakistan will be recognized at the national level and awarded accordingly.
