ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the swift finalisation of the Electric Vehicles (EV) Policy 2025, calling for inclusive consultation with all relevant stakeholders.
Chairing a high-level meeting in Lahore on Saturday to review the policy framework for promoting the electric vehicle industry, the prime minister stressed the urgency of implementing priority measures to encourage the adoption of electric motorcycles, scooters, three-wheelers, cars, and buses nationwide.
The meeting included a detailed discussion on the draft EV Policy 2025. Prime Minister Shehbaz highlighted the critical need for developing essential infrastructure, such as charging stations and battery swapping facilities, to support the growing EV ecosystem.
He also directed that necessary support be extended to relevant industries to boost local manufacturing of electric two- and three-wheelers.
Federal Ministers Rana Tanveer Hussain, Ahad Khan Cheema, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Special Assistant Haroon Akhtar, and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
