ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the passing of renowned researcher and senior analyst Dr. Syed Rifaat Hussain.
In his statement, the Prime Minister prayed for the departed soul’s elevation in Jannah and strength for the bereaved family to bear this loss.
He noted that Dr. Rifaat Hussain’s passing is a great loss to Pakistan, as he was among the country’s finest journalists and researchers.
Dr. Rifaat Hussain previously served as the Head of the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies at Quaid-i-Azam University. He was also the brother of TV anchor Talat Hussain.
An accomplished scholar, he authored several books and publications, including Afghanistan and 9/11.
