PM decides to form committee for KP's share in NFC award and Jirga system

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has decided to form a committee for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s share in the National Finance Commission (NFC) award and the jirga system.

According to private TV Aaj News, an important tribal jirga was held to consider the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in which Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Asim Munir, DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur, and other political and military leaders and tribal elders are participating.

Important decisions related to law and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were taken in the tribal jirga on law and order under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

In the jirga, the Prime Minister announced to review the NFC award in the CCI meeting and to form a committee for the jirga system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and tribal districts.

Addressing the jirga, Shahbaz Sharif said that we are going to hold the first meeting regarding the NFC Award in August.

The Prime Minister said that the first point in the 2010 NFC Award is the provision of resources to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa against terrorism. 700 billion rupees were given to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in different periods, and this series of funds will continue until terrorism is eliminated.

He said that he will form a committee on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s share in the NFC Award. We will sit together and look seriously at the issues of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and if necessary, we will take it to the parliament.
