ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed condolences over the death of the mother of Chief of Army Staff COAS Gen. Syed Asim Munir.
In a statement, the prime minister shared his sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for the deceased to be granted “the highest ranks in the hereafter.”

News of the passing prompted an outpouring of condolences from government officials and political leaders. Many noted that the holy month of Ramadan is a time of divine blessings and prayed for the departed soul to receive mercy.
