PM Shehbaz, army chief to attend key Jirga in Quetta today

ISLAMABAD:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir and federal ministers, will visit Quetta today for a high-profile jirga aimed at addressing key issues facing Balochistan.

The jirga, hosted by Balochistan Governor Jafar Khan Mandokhel and Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, will bring together provincial ministers, lawmakers, tribal leaders, and political figures. Discussions will focus on law and order, development challenges, and other pressing concerns in the province.

Officials said the meeting seeks to foster consensus among stakeholders, with tribal elders being consulted on critical matters. The visit underscores the federal government’s push to engage Balochistan’s leadership in resolving long-standing issues.
