Prime Minister exchanges Eid greetings with Egyptian president

ISLAMABAD;Prime Minister PM Shehbaz Sharif held a cordial telephone conversation with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Saturday, exchanging heartfelt Eid-ul-Fitr greetings and discussing avenues to deepen bilateral cooperation.

The Prime Minister extended warm wishes to the Egyptian leadership, government, and citizens, expressing prayers for Egypt’s continued prosperity and progress. Reflecting on his December 2023 visit to Cairo for the D-8 Summit, PM Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to expanding friendly relations with Egypt across all areas of shared interest.

Highlighting Egypt’s successful Hepatitis C eradication program, the Prime Minister praised its achievements, leading to mutual agreement on enhanced health sector collaboration. An Egyptian delegation will visit Pakistan shortly after Eid to support the country’s Hepatitis control initiatives, while a Pakistani team will also travel to Egypt for knowledge exchange.

President Sisi warmly reciprocated the Eid greetings and extended his best wishes to the people of Pakistan. He emphasized Egypt’s keen interest in further strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation with Pakistan, signaling a shared vision for deeper bilateral engagement.

The conversation underscored the enduring camaraderie between the two nations and their commitment to fostering partnerships in health, trade, and regional development.
