ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has returned home after completing an important and busy official visit to China.
Before his departure, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was given a warm farewell by the Chinese leadership at the Capital International Airport in Beijing. Among those who bid farewell to the Prime Minister were Han Xerong, member of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the People’s Political Consultative Conference, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi and other senior diplomatic officials.
During his visit to China, the Prime Minister represented Pakistan at the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit and the SCO Plus Summit in Tianjin. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also participated in the global celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the struggle against fascism in World War II.
During the visit, the Prime Minister held separate meetings with the Chinese President and Prime Minister, as well as the leaders of Russia, Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, in which bilateral cooperation, regional stability and issues of mutual interest were discussed.
Shehbaz Sharif also attended the second China-Pakistan Business to Business Conference held in Beijing during the visit, where emphasis was placed on further promoting trade relations and expanding economic partnership.
