RIYADH: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif called on Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah and discussed means of further strengthening trade, enhancing partnerships in key sectors and facilitating greater economic collaboration.
“We had a most productive discussion on ways to further strengthen Pakistan-Saudi Arabia ties in trade, investment, energy & security,” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on his official account.
He thanked the Crown Prince for the Kingdom’s consistent support to Pakistan. “
“Our enduring friendship & shared vision for prosperity is taking our bilateral relations to new heights and transforming it into a mutually beneficial economic partnership. Lauded the pivotal role played by His Royal Highness and the Kingdom in efforts to bring peace in the Middle East and in Ukraine,” read the post.

Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir and other senior officials of PM delegation were also present in the meeting. The two sides discussed expanding trade, enhancing strategic partnerships and deepening economic collaboration.
Prime Minister’s visit underscores the deep-rooted historical relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and will pave the way for increased mutual understanding, enhanced cooperation in trade, investment and greater diplomatic coordination.
Saudi Arabia remains a key export market for Pakistan due to its strong consumer demand and Vision 2030 reforms. The Kingdom hosts 2.7 million Pakistanis, who send the highest remittances, a vital part of Pakistan’s economy.

Last month, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan inaugurated Pakistan’s first solo “Made in Pakistan” exhibition in Jeddah. He highlighted that 1.7 million Pakistanis had moved to Saudi Arabia in the past five years, making it their top migration destination.
