KAKUl: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday rejected India’s baseless accusations again over the recent Pahlagam attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), calling instead for a transparent, neutral, and internationally-led investigation. He said Pakistan stands ready to cooperate fully to uncover the truth and expose the blame game.
Addressing the passing out parade of cadets at Pakistan Military Academy Kakul, Shehbaz Sharif said the entire nation stands with Pakistan’s armed forces to defend every inch of the homeland.
He said the armed forces are capable and fully prepared to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against any misadventure.
The Prime Minister praised the military for its valour, discipline, and commitment to the nation.
He said Pakistan wants peace, but that should not be mistaken for weakness.
He made it clear that Pakistan will never compromise on its dignity or security.
He warned that any attempt to stop, reduce, or divert Pakistan’s share of water under the Indus Water Treaty will face a strong response.
He said water is Pakistan’s lifeline and vital national interest. The government will protect it at all costs.
On terrorism, Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan condemns it in all forms. The country has lost over 90,000 lives and suffered economic losses of over 600 billion dollars.
He said this sacrifice proves Pakistan’s resolve to eliminate terrorism of every kind.
He criticized India for making baseless allegations and avoiding credible investigations.
He called the recent tragedy in Pahalgam another example of India’s blame game and said it must stop.
He said Pakistan is ready to join any neutral and credible investigation into such incidents.
On Kashmir, he quoted Quaid-e-Azam who called it the jugular vein of Pakistan.
He said the Kashmir dispute remains unresolved despite UN resolutions.
He pledged continued support for the Kashmiri people in their struggle for self-determination.
He also condemned India’s treatment of minorities, especially Muslims and Sikhs.
He said India has failed to protect the lives and dignity of these communities.
Turning to Afghanistan, the Prime Minister said Pakistan wants peaceful ties with its neighbor.
However, he said terrorist attacks from Afghan soil must stop.
He said Pakistan has delivered a clear message to the interim Afghan government. Friendly ties are not possible while groups like Fitnah Al Khwarij use Afghan territory to attack Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan is strengthening old alliances and forming new partnerships to expand its global outreach.
As a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, Pakistan will keep working for peace and upholding the UN Charter.
He said Pakistan also raised its voice for the people of Palestine.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan is making progress toward economic recovery.
He said the country is attracting foreign investment in mining, energy, agriculture, livestock, IT, and defense production.
Earlier, he gave awards to the best cadets.
Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir also attended the parade.
