PM Shehbaz to visit China for SCO summit today

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister  PM Shehbaz Sharif has left for a four-day official visit to China, where he will attend the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of State Summit in Tianjin.

During his visit, scheduled from August 30 to September 4, Sharif will hold crucial meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang to discuss Pakistan-China bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and the progress of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

The PM Shehbaz will also attend a special military parade to be held in Beijing where other world leaders will also participate. This event is being held on the occasion of China’s Defense Day.

The Foreign Office says that this visit will prove to be an important milestone in further strengthening the long-standing relations between Pakistan and China, promoting peace and development in the region and expanding mutual economic cooperation.
