ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain claimed that the next government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) will be formed by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). Speaking to the media, he dismissed the PTI’s planned protest on August 5, saying, “Those protesting will have to accept reality.” He also criticized PTI’s founder, saying he continues to call for protests even from jail.
Hussain clarified that Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s acquittal was not part of any deal, stating that courts decide cases on merit. However, he called the May 9 riots “unacceptable.”
The minister said the PML-N is open to dialogue with all parties, including PTI, for political stability but accused PTI of refusing negotiations. He also claimed that PTI initially gained power with the backing of certain institutions, citing the 2014 sit-in as an example.
On foreign policy, Hussain praised Pakistan’s current strategy, saying, “Our eternal enemy is isolated, with only Israel supporting it.” He also noted that inflation has dropped to 4% and promised further reductions.
