RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Police have deported 3,000 Afghan nationals this year as the authorities have intensified efforts to deport illegal refugees.
According to a private news channel, Express News reports, the authorities have successfully met their target of deporting Afghan nationals this year. Among those deported were 1,600 men, 550 women, and 825 children.
During September alone, 219 Afghan citizens were detained and transferred to holding camps. Of those, 44 have already been deported, while 173 more are expected to be deported to Kabul.
Police carried out arrests across multiple areas of Rawalpindi including 45 from Chontra, 73 from Saddar Barooni, 22 Gujar Khan, 12 Saddar Wah, 10 each from Dhamial and Mandra, 8 from Taxila, 7 each from Jatli and Banni, 6 each from Pirwadhai and Naseerabad.

The crackdown is part of a broader effort to monitor undocumented Afghan nationals and reinforce border security.
