ABBOTTABAD: Police arrested a husband and wife who gave fake currency to traders in Changla Gali area and recovered counterfeit currency worth Rs. 136,000 from their possession.
On the instructions of District Police Chief Abbottabad Omar Tufail PSP, Abbottabad Police has launched a crackdown against criminal elements.SHO Changla Gali Zubair Khan’s action. Abrar, son of Shaukat Ali and his wife, who came from Karachi for tourism, gave fake notes to several traders for purchasing goods.
After receiving the complaint, Abbottabad Police took timely action, arrested both the husband and wife and recovered fake currency notes worth Rs. 136,000 from the possession of the accused, while a case was registered against the accused under sections 489B/489C, and investigation started.
The circulation of fake currency notes has caused concern among the masses as people have no machine to check all currency notes in times of emergency and trading in various tourist destinations.
