Police cope martyred, four injured in Bannu Terrorists attack

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police targeted in 68 attacks this year

BANNU: A person was killed and four others injured when armed militants attacked police personnel in the limits of Thana Hoveed area, district Bannu midnight on Thursday.

Local sources said that the incident occurred when armed militants targeted police personnel. Murtaza, who succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital, while four people, including civilians, were injured. The injured have been shifted to the district headquarters Hospital, Bannu. The doctors said that the condition of the injured persons is stated to be stable.

The local people have decided to defend the motherland against the miscreant elements and took arms for the restoration of peace in the area. The injured also include a school teacher who is under treatment in the hospital.

It is to mentioning here that terrorist attacks have increased in the area. On May 01, during an intelligence-based operation in the Spin Tangi area of Bannu, three Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel, identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector Benyamin Khan and Constables Inam Khan and Musawar, were martyred in a shootout with militants.

Besides these two, other CTD personnel also sustained injuries in the exchange of fire with terrorists.
