PESHAWAR: Capital City Police Peshawar thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large consignment of fireworks and arrested one suspect during a raid in the Gulbahar area.
Acting on a tip-off, SHO Phandu Police Station Sohail Khan, under the supervision of DSP Gulbahar Circle Akhtar Naseer Khan, set up a checkpoint and stopped a suspicious Suzuki pickup truck. Upon searching the vehicle, officers recovered a significant quantity of illegal fireworks.
The arrested suspect, identified as Murad son of Sherzada, was taken into custody, and a case has been registered against him. Police have launched a further investigation to uncover potential links to larger smuggling networks.
Authorities have warned against the illegal trade of fireworks, citing safety hazards and legal consequences.
