Police repel major terrorist attack on check post in Dera Ghazi Khan

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Dera Ghazi Khan police foiled a major terrorist attack on the Jhangi check post near the Wahowa border station.

As per details, around 20 to 25 extremists launched a nighttime assault using rocket launchers and automatic weapons. Alert police officers responded with heavy fire, forcing the attackers to flee.

According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, this was the second attack on the Jhangi check post. The terrorists struck on Pakistan Day, while police were already conducting operations against criminals in Katcha and extremists in Dera Ghazi Khan.

RPO Dera Ghazi Khan Sajad Manj led the operation, with DPO Syed Ali present at the site. After the attack, police launched a search operation to track the fleeing terrorists. Initial reports indicate that some attackers suffered casualties.

Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar praised the officers for their vigilance. He said the Punjab government has strengthened the Jhangi check post with more personnel, modern equipment, and advanced weapons.

He assured that Punjab police remain a strong barrier against enemies, protecting the public with courage and commitment. Pakistan has faced a surge in terror attacks over the past week.
