Pregnant woman reported missing, found dead in Nowshera

The body of a pregnant woman who had been reported missing from her home has been discovered in a charred condition, raising serious concerns about the circumstances surrounding her death.

Twenty-five-year-old Uzma, who was eight months pregnant, was discovered charred to death today after mysteriously going missing the previous day in the jurisdiction of the Nowshera Cantt police station.

According to Nowshera DSP Muqaddam Khan, Uzma’s husband, Yasin, reported to the police on May 21 that his wife had left the house and her mobile phone was turned off. The police registered a First Information Report (FIR) and initiated an investigation, forming a team to look into the matter from various angles. During the investigation, they arrested Yasin’s sister, Humaira Taj, and brother, Saqib. After being interrogated, they confessed to the crime, admitting that they, along with a relative named Zahid, had killed Uzma, then buried her body after pouring mud over it and setting it on fire in a desert area.

Following their guidance, the police recovered Uzma’s body, which was moved to the hospital and later handed over to her family. Both of the arrested individuals are Yasin’s siblings, and authorities are currently conducting raids to apprehend the third suspect.
