President Zardari pledges to uphold Bhutto’s vision on 46th death anniversary

President Asif Ali Zardari urged Pakistanis to rise above differences, reject division, and embrace unity in a message marking Pakistan Day. He acknowledged the country’s significant political, economic, and security challenges, emphasizing the need to navigate complex global realities, address economic pressures, and pursue sustainable development.

Zardari highlighted the ongoing threat of terrorism and praised the sacrifices of Pakistan’s Armed Forces in safeguarding the nation. He expressed confidence in the country’s potential to overcome these challenges, citing the principles of “Unity, Faith, and Discipline” from the Pakistan Resolution as guiding lights for success.

In a press release from the President Secretariat Press Wing, Zardari congratulated the nation on Pakistan Day, reflecting on the sacrifices of the founding fathers and workers of the Pakistan Movement. He called for a focus on strengthening national security, revitalizing the economy, advancing agriculture, ensuring energy security, and creating opportunities for youth. Additionally, he stressed the importance of investing in healthcare and social welfare to ensure no Pakistani is left behind.

Zardari reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peaceful coexistence, regional stability, and mutual cooperation, following the foreign policy vision of the nation’s founder. He emphasized building stronger relationships with neighbors and the global community based on mutual respect and shared prosperity while defending Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He paid tribute to the bravery and dedication of the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies.

The president also reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine in their struggles for self-determination. He urged the international community to take decisive steps to implement UN Security Council resolutions, allowing Kashmiris and Palestinians to determine their futures.

Zardari concluded by acknowledging the challenges ahead but expressed optimism, stating that the same spirit that led to Pakistan’s creation could propel the nation toward a brighter future. He praised the resilience, hard work, and patriotism of the Pakistani people, calling on citizens to honor the sacrifices of national heroes by working toward a strong, united, and prosperous Pakistan.
