Price of petrol raised before Eid across Pakistan

Petrol price hike expected as global oil rates climb

ISLAMABAD: The federal government announced a slight increase of Re1 in petrol prices early Sunday, just ahead of Eidul Azha.

According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, the new petrol price has been set at Rs253.63 per litre, effective from June 1 for the next 15 days.

Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) remains unchanged at Rs254.64 per litre.

This adjustment follows the previous fortnight’s decision, in which the government kept the petrol price steady at Rs253.63 and reduced the HSD price by Rs2 per litre.

The current revision comes amid stable trends in the global oil market. On Friday, oil prices dipped as traders speculated that OPEC+ might raise production levels for July. Brent crude futures fell by 25 cents to $63.90 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude dropped 15 cents to $60.79 per barrel.
