ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while expressing deep sorrow and regret over the ongoing flood situation in different parts of the country, has said that the flood victims will not be left alone under any circumstances. He has directed the federal and provincial governments to ensure immediate and all possible help to the affected people.
The Prime Minister expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives due to floods across the country, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that the federal government is busy with the provincial governments, utilising all resources, in the rehabilitation and relief work.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appealed to the nation to unite in this hour of trial and actively participate in helping the flood victims. He said that this is a time of national unity and compassion, transcending political differences.
The Prime Minister has directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to continue full cooperation with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and expedite relief operations in the affected areas.
On the directions of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Information Technology has activated the 911 emergency helpline across the country. This service aims to ensure immediate communication and provision of assistance during floods, especially in areas where mobile networks have been affected or shut down.
The Prime Minister made it clear that the government will not leave the people alone and all available resources will be used to assist every affected person.
