ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Space Activities Regulatory Authority Board (PSARB) has granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the fastest internet provider service Starlink, signalling that the company has successfully met all regulatory criteria.

According to officials, the Board issued the NOC to Starlink followed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s instructions.

The official said the approval follows clearance from the Ministry of Interior, allowing Starlink to move forward with its operations in Pakistan.

PTA is likely to issue the license to Starlink in the next two weeks

Industry insiders reveal that the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is set to issue operational licenses to Starlink within the next two weeks.

The company has already submitted its formal application and provided comprehensive technical and business plans for review.

Additionally, Starlink has completed three crucial registration phases in Pakistan.

It has secured approvals from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), and now the Pakistan Space Activities Regulatory Authority.

The final hurdle before commencing operations is obtaining formal registration from the PTA.

Regulatory authorities are currently evaluating Starlink’s submitted documents to ensure that its services will integrate seamlessly without causing any disruptions to the existing network infrastructure.

Pakistan has been making significant strides in advancing its space and satellite communication policies.
