PSL X: Yasir Khan’s explosive knock drives Sultans to monumental total against Qalandars

MULTAN: In the 25th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 on Monday, Multan Sultans were bowled out for just 108 runs in 19.1 overs, setting a 109-run target for Peshawar Zalmi at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

The innings started poorly for the hosts, with openers Yasir Khan (10) and Rizwan (17) falling during the powerplay, leaving the score at 34/2.

Tayyab Tahir tried to counter the early collapse with a quick 22 off 18 balls, including two fours and a six, but his dismissal to Ahmed Daniyal in the ninth over led to another batting slump. The Sultans quickly crumbled to 66/6 by the 12th over.

Shai Hope tried to stabilise the innings, putting together a 20-run stand with David Willey. He top-scored for Multan with 23 off 21 balls before being dismissed by Alzarri Joseph.

Willey struggled to score freely and was removed for 8 off 16 balls in the 17th over by Daniyal. Mohammad Hasnain chipped in with 11 off 10 deliveries but was the last to fall on the first ball of the final over.

Ahmed Daniyal led Zalmi’s bowling attack with figures of 3/17 in four overs. Maaz Sadaqat and Luke Wood took two wickets each, while Ali Raza, Saim Ayub, and Alzarri Joseph claimed one apiece.

Earlier, Multan Sultans won the toss and chose to bat first.
