Opening batter Yasir Khan’s explosive knock drived the Multan Sultans to monumental total against the Lahore Qalandars who played a sensational inning, notching a powerful half-century that propelled Multan Sultans to a staggering total against Lahore Qalandars in the 12th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Captain Mohammad Rizwan’s choice to bat first proved to be advantageous as his team amassed 228 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. The Sultans made a fiery start, with the new opening pair of Yasir and Rizwan demolishing the Qalandars’ bowling attack, scoring 89 runs within the first seven overs.

The Qalandars secured a crucial breakthrough when Asif Afridi bowled Rizwan on the first delivery of the eighth over. The Sultan’s skipper contributed a quick 32 runs off 17 balls, striking four fours and a six before departing.

Wicketkeeper batter Usman Khan then joined Yasir in the middle, and the duo forged a vital partnership of 70 runs before they were dismissed in consecutive overs. Usman scored a quickfire 39 off 24 balls, including five fours and a six, while Yasir emerged as the top scorer with an explosive 87 runs off just 44 balls, featuring six fours and six sixes.

The Sultans faced another setback when Rishad Hossain dismissed Ashton Turner for 15, reducing their total to 179 for 4 in 15.4 overs. However, Iftikhar Ahmed stepped up with a rapid 40 runs off 18 balls towards the end of the innings, pushing the Sultans’ total beyond the 220-run mark.

Rishad was the standout bowler for the Qalandars, claiming two wickets for 45 runs in his four overs, while Shaheen Shah Afridi, Sikandar Raza, and Asif Afridi each took one wicket.
