The Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf (PTI) accountability committee on Monday submitted the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) assembly corruption, recruitment probe report to party founder Imran Khan.
The investigation into alleged corruption and recruitment in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has been completed. The accountability committee of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has sent its report to party chairman Imran Khan.
The accountability committee report says that Speaker Babar Saleem should review all his actions following the party manifesto.
According to the report, the speaker is the guardian of the rights and powers of the assembly and is not legally subordinate to anyone, so the committee cannot issue any orders to him.
The report says that since the speaker is the trustee of the PTI manifesto, the committee can recommend to him.
The report suggests that the speaker review all appointments, recruitments, promotions and transfers from non-gazetted to gazetted posts made during his tenure. The committee members have specifically recommended a review of four employees.
The report says that the speaker should issue orders that are in line with the party manifesto and Imran Khan’s vision.

The National Accountability Bureau has traced transactions of two senior PTI leader in Kohistan Mega financial corruption scandal of Rs 40 billion and has started further investigation.
Sources said a senior government official of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and two senior leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have come under investigation by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in a mega corruption scandal of Rs 40 billion. An informed source in the federal capital told the national newspaper “The News” that two suspicious transactions worth millions of rupees were made from the government accounts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which are related to senior leaders of PTI. One of these transactions was made in a bank account that is allegedly linked to the family of a top government official of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Sources said that NAB has revealed in its initial investigation that two expensive properties were purchased with stolen government funds. One of these properties was purchased from a PTI leader from Hazara region, while the other property was purchased in a major city in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for which the money was paid from a suspicious bank account. According to reports, the said second property is currently occupied by the family of a key constitutional public official of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa belonging to PTI. Both these major financial transactions were made from bank accounts into which money stolen from the government funds of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was allegedly transferred.
Sources said that NAB is investigating all aspects of this mega corruption scandal, which has dealt a severe political blow to the previous PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. When contacted, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said, “This matter is from the caretaker government’s era. Whatever the political affiliation, the law will take its course.” Investigations into the scandal are ongoing, and more revelations are expected to emerge in the coming days.
