PTI failed to complete a single mega project in Buner during last 13 years

Flood alert issued due to rising water level in Kalpani Nallah in Mardan

BUNER: Despite receiving huge numbers of votes on National and Provincial Assembly seats, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government failed to complete a single mega developmental project in Buner, which could benefit the masses and provide permanent relief to the dwellers of the area.

The people had great expectations from their elected representatives for the prosperity and development of this picturesque valley, but unfortunately, their promises turned to ‘Loud thunder, little rain’. PTI MPAs only deceive the masses over small water supply schemes and electricity transformers, and for the first time, these were Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPAs who introduced installing name plates on transformers.

The projects which needs dire attention of the government is Swat-Gookand road which lies in dilapidated condition, frequently results road incidents and problems for serious patients. This road connects Buner with Mingora through shortest distance and most of the tourism spots of the districts situated along side this road.

Talking to a Pakhtun Digital resident of the area, said that a golden opportunity was lost by PTI MPA Riaz Khan when he was minister of C&W, but instead of completing the roads in Buner, he prefers to spend time in irrelevant projects.

They said that now huge amount is being spend on Swat Buner tunnel but have little benefit for the people as this tunnel was needed near Rustan Ambela mountain, which is longest mountainous road from Mardan to Buner and connects the entire population with important districts like Mardan, Peshawar and Sawabi, Islamabad where people visits on routine basis for their works.

They said that all important roads are in poor condition and they are not focusing these roads to be completed on time. Moreover, the snail paces work on projects, resulting in the completion of the place and damaging another part of the road, which is matter of great concern for the 0.7 million population of Buner.

The residents of the area demanded that all four elected representatives focus their developmental agenda instead of wasting time on protest rallies and irrelevant things. They said that the area is full of tourism potential but needs only honest people to complete these roads on an urgent basis.

The local people were much disappointed from their MNA Barrister Gohar, who have completely ignored their voters and he not focused his area despite repeated visit on this shabby condition of road. If situation like this continue for next couple of month the entire population would divert their sympathies toward Awami National Party who completed large number of developmental schemes in their terror hit tenure from 2008 to 2013. The residents said that all PTI MPAs and MNAs should think about the future of Buner instead of wasting time on their own agendas.
