PTI founder confirms sons will not come to Pakistan for protest

alman Akram Raja reprimands Aliya Hamza over tweet on party’s Lahore event, warns of disciplinary action

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on Tuesday confirmed that his sons will not be coming to Pakistan to support efforts for his release from jail.

Responding to a reporter’s question during a hearing at Adiala Jail, Khan made it clear that his sons, Qasim and Sulaiman, would not take part in the party’s planned protest on August 5. “No, they will not come,” he stated.

His remarks contradict earlier claims from PTI leaders and his sister, Aleema Khan, who had hinted that the boys were expected to arrive in Pakistan to show solidarity with their father.

Sources close to the party had also suggested that the two sons, currently living abroad with their mother, Jemima Goldsmith, might join PTI’s ongoing campaign against Khan’s imprisonment.

The former prime minister has been incarcerated at Adiala Jail since August 2023 and is facing multiple legal cases.
