PTI in talks with JUI-F for major political alliance, Salman Akram Raja

PTI senior leader Salman Akram Raja has dismissed media reports exaggerating internal differences within the party, stating that the reality is far less dramatic. Speaking to a private news channel  Raja emphasized that statements from those who left PTI do not reflect a genuine difference of opinion within the party. He also addressed Barrister Ali Zafar’s recent tweet, calling it a misunderstanding.

Raja explained that PTI’s founder had established a specific procedure for meetings, with a committee formed to oversee the process. The committee, which includes Omar Ayub and Shibli Faraz, is responsible for approving names of individuals permitted to meet the party founder. Anyone meeting without being on the list will be considered a defector, he warned. He clarified that Ali Amin Gandapur’s visits are official, while Azam Swati’s recent meeting was on an individual basis and not reflective of party policy.

On political alliances, Raja revealed that PTI is in contact with JUI-F and a major coalition is expected soon. He endorsed former President Arif Alvi’s stance on the sanctity of the vote, warning that undermining it could lead to extremism. Raja also denied seeking any backdoor negotiations for power.
