PESHAWAR: Ruling Pakistan Tehreek-s-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker MPA Tariq Saeed has raised serious concerns regarding the recruitment process in the Education and Secondary Education (E&SE) Department in Lakki Marwat.
Tariq Saeed, who an elected MPA from PK-107 Lakki Marwat-III, has written a letter to the speaker of KP Assembly in which highlighted in the hiring process and alleged favoritism in appointments.
“The locals through social media raised their voice regarding the appointments made in E&SED at Lakki Marwat. I, being Member of the Provincial Assembly of Lakki Marwat was contacted by authentic sources regarding the appointments against deceased/ retired son’s quota by already transferred District Education officer (DEO), Male, Lakki Marwat,” read the letter written to KP Assembly speaker.
In his letter, he said that he reached out to another MPA from the district, Johar Muhammad Khan, who denied any involvement or consent in the recruitment process.
He said that he also complained to Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education, and the Secretary of E&SE through letter.
He said that the Finance Department also raised concerns, issuing a letter about the unauthorized creation of posts and changes in the titles of positions in Lakki Marwat’s E&SE Department.
In his letter, Saeed has called for an independent inquiry into the matter. He requested the Planning and Development Department (P&D) to form an inquiry committee comprising of the Director General of Monitoring and Evaluation (DG M&E) and the Director General of Audit (DG Audit) to investigate the transparency of appointments made in the E&SE Department over the last two years.
