PTI slams govt fears over arrival of Imran Khan’s sons

Imran Khan's sons apply for Pakistan visas

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram accused the government of spreading falsehoods out of fear over the possible return of PTI founder Imran Khan’s sons to Pakistan.

In a strongly worded statement, Waqas Akram condemned the government’s portrayal of Khan’s sons as foreigners, clarifying that both Sulaiman and Kasim are Pakistani nationals and holders of National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOPs), which legally entitles them to visit the country and meet their father.

“The oppressive regime, terrified at the thought of Imran Khan’s children coming to Pakistan, has resorted to lies — a clear sign of its cowardice and weakness,” he said.

Akram revealed that both sons had received tracking numbers for their visa applications submitted to the Pakistan High Commission in London — Sulaiman’s being 88005575178 and Kasim’s 88005575782. He explained that while NICOP issuance may take a few weeks, visas could be granted within hours.

According to Akram, a family friend of Khan’s was informed by the high commissioner that visa clearance was pending approval from the Ministry of Interior. However, the ministry later denied any role in visa issuance, and claimed that no applications had been received — a contradiction, Akram pointed out.

He also formally released official details confirming the NICOP status of both Sulaiman and Kasim.
