PTI to attend ANP’s All Party conference on Mines and Mineral Act

PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party (ANP) led all party conference will be held today to discuss the proposed Mines and Minerals Act 2025 of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that has drawn strong criticism from the opposition and within the ruling party.

Meanwhile, the ruling party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has accepted the invitation to participate in the APC to be held today at the Bacha Khan Markaz in Peshawar.

A three-member delegation comprising PTI Provincial General Secretary Ali Asghar Khan, Peshawar Region General Secretary Arbab Sher Ali and Member Provincial Assembly Shakeel Khan will go to the ANP All Parties Conference.

Yesterday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had defended the proposed Act and said that the mafia is opposing the Mines and Mineral Act 2025.

Criticising opposition parties, he said that those opposing the bill had voted in the favour of same bill in the Balochistan Assembly.

The Awami National Party’s All Parties Conference will start today at 10 am.

ANP Provincial General Secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain says that invitations have been sent by the ANP to the ruling party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf as well as the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and the Pakistan People’s Party in power at the center. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Jamaat-e-Islami, Qaumi Watan Party, National Democratic Movement and Mazdoor Kisan Party have also been invited to participate. Invitations have also been sent to the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and the Pakistan People’s Party.

Mian Iftikhar Hussain further said that after the conference, a joint declaration will be issued in consultation with all political parties and civil societies. The declaration will present a unanimous position on the proposed Mines and Minerals Bill 2025.
