ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) is likely to expel the central leader of the party, Shahbaz Gill, from the party due to increasing complaints and dissatisfaction among members.
According to sources, founding chairman Imran Khan has received various complaints from party leaders regarding Shahbaz Gill’s conduct, including issues of misbehaviour, factionalism, and disclosing crucial party decisions on social media.
Party insiders report that Shahbaz Gill’s daily misconduct towards party leaders, his sharing of sensitive decisions from the core and political committees, and his encouragement of internal divisions have led to significant unrest within the PTI. Several senior leaders have repeatedly raised concerns about his behaviour with the founding chairman.
Sources suggest that Imran Khan has acknowledged these complaints and is poised to take strict action against Shahbaz Gill. A formal notification for his expulsion from the party is likely to be issued in the coming days, following a few meetings in jail.
Additionally, accusations made on social media against Shahbaz Gill, including calls from some close associates labelling him a “traitor,” have been included in the charge sheet against him.
Many significant and senior leaders are deeply frustrated with his actions, deeming him detrimental to the party.
According to close associates of the founding chairman, Shahbaz Gill’s conduct has not only intensified divisions within the party but also harmed the overall reputation of the PTI.
