PESHAWAR: Leader of the opposition in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Dr Ibadullah said that Kohistan scandal is a major institutional failure of the PTI government and C&W department while Accountant General office and finance department are equally responsible for this scam.
He was addressing a press conference in Peshawar on Thursday. He said that when the Panama Papers case emerged in Pakistan, the PTI leader fully tried to defame Nawaz Sharif and oust him from power. He said that it was the PTI leadership who blamed the PML-N for the three billion, while their party was involved in a 40 billion rupees’ scam. He said that PTI members who did not have a rickshaw became the owners of houses and land. He said that Rs 40 billion were utilised to launch attacks and destabilise the government. He said that Kohistan’s Assistant Commissioner had also written a letter to the government regarding corruption, but the Chief Minister of the province had not taken action timely. He said that two billion has also been deposited in the account of a peon in the Kohistan scandal, while a huge amount would soon be recovered from the responsible officers and politicians who are involved in this case.
