ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Engineer Amir Muqam, has strongly criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stating that the party has caused the most damage to the country.
Speaking on a private TV program, Muqam accused PTI founders of consistently playing the victim while their actions and social media campaigns are visible to the entire nation. He argued that Pakistan’s current challenges are a direct result of PTI’s past attitudes and policies, emphasizing that “weakening institutions cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.”
DeSpite sharing that his own family faced hardship, including cases against his son and harassment of his wife, Muqam stated he never spoke against the state. He demanded that PTI now play a positive role for the country’s stability.
The Minister clarified that cases against the PTI founder are a matter for the courts, not the government. He called for all political forces to prioritize the national interest over politics, highlighting that political stability is essential for economic stability. He concluded that the government is open to negotiations but only with an empowered PTI leadership.
