PTI’s Junaid Akbar slams Barrister Saif over drone attack stance

PTI KP President Junaid Akbar

PESHAWAR: Junaid Akbar, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has openly criticized his own party and the provincial government.

Speaking on a private TV show, Akbar accused the government of targeting his supporters. He also expressed frustration over the party’s leadership, saying they send conflicting messages.

Akbar claimed that when he speaks against suspected drone attacks in KP, PTI leader and government spokesperson Barrister Saif supports the strikes instead. He also alleged that those who “stole PTI’s mandate” have been rewarded with promotions.

The PTI KP chief further said that party chairman Barrister Gauhar and others often change their stance after meeting PTI’s founder (Imran Khan), making it hard to trust their decisions. He complained about a lack of support from the party, making it difficult to lead the political movement effectively.

The remarks highlight growing tensions within PTI’s KP chapter.
