PESHAWAR: PTI Accountability Committee member and Senior lawyer Qazi Anwar Advocate has said that the Mines and Minerals Bill is against the sovereignty of the province, this bill should not be passed to please anyone against the rights of the province.
Addressing a press conference in Peshawar, Qazi Anwar said that instructions have been received from PTI founder Imran Khan to discuss the Mines and Minerals Act and the return of Afghan citizens.
On the Mines and Minerals Bill, the Finance Minister has said in the US that the Mines and Minerals Bill is for the balance of trade between the US and Pakistan, Qazi Anwar claimed.
He said that the bill has been sent to all the provinces to be passed, but the government cannot pass any bill until it is approved by the cabinet. None of the cabinet members have read this bill. I do not think that all the members of the cabinet are illiterate.
He said that the Mines and Minerals Bill is against the sovereignty of the province. The people have the right to the minerals of the province. This bill should not be passed to please the US. Passing the Mines and Minerals Bill in a hurry would be treason against the province.
“The IMF has said that there are reservations about the judicial system, the Chief Justice was made to sit in front of the IMF delegation, this is regrettable” he lamented.

Qazi Anwar further said that we had welcomed the Afghan refugees with open arms, now they should be sent back respectfully, not by pushing them.
