Punjab CM imposed complete ban on Deforestation and Timber Auctions

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has decided to end the traditional system of forest timber auctions for the first time in history, while a formal order has been issued to ban forest timber auctions.

The Chief Minister of Punjab has stopped the business of deforestation under the guise of tree auctions and for the first time in the history of Punjab, the traditional system of forest timber auctions has been abolished. New and transparent rules and regulations will be made with the help of modern technology and mapping.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, an immediate ban has been imposed on deforestation and timber auctions in all forests of Punjab, while a formal order has been issued to ban forest timber auctions.

According to the order, in the name of auction, forest trees were ruthlessly cut down and the money went into a few pockets. The Director General of the Department of Forests, Wildlife and Fisheries has been directed to ensure its implementation.

The order states that the auction of all types of wood, including fuel, has been banned until further notice. The Punjab Chief Minister took this step to protect forests and protect the land from erosion. In future, high-quality videos and photos will be given before the auction.
