ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain accompanied by gusty winds and thundershowers on Sunday in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to the advisory, heavy rainfall is likely at isolated locations in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, the Pothohar region, and northeast Punjab. Rain with gusty winds and thundershowers is also expected in southern Punjab, northeast and southern Balochistan, and southeast Sindh during the evening and night.
In Islamabad and adjoining areas, cloudy weather is expected with chances of strong winds, thundershowers, and spells of heavy rain.
Across Punjab, partly cloudy conditions will prevail in most districts, while Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Mianwali, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, and Narowal may receive rain with thundershowers. Heavy downpours are likely at some locations. Other districts, including Bhakkar, Khushab, Sargodha, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Multan, Rajanpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan, may also experience rain in the evening and night.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain with strong winds and thundershowers is forecast in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Kohat, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Waziristan, Tank, and Dera Ismail Khan. The PMD warned that heavy rainfall is more likely in the province’s upper districts.
