ISLAMABAD: Rain is expected today in parts of Islamabad, Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, according to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The PMD has forecast light to heavy showers in various regions, urging citizens to exercise caution amid possible rain-related hazards.
On Saturday, rainfall was recorded in Murree, Mianwali, Attock, Jhang, South Waziristan, and Swat, providing temporary relief from the prevailing heat.
However, the downpour also led to tragic incidents. In Malakand, two sisters died when a wall collapsed due to heavy rain, while in Kohat, a roof collapse claimed one life.
In Khyber district’s Jamrud tehsil, two young girls were swept away by flash floods. One body has been recovered, while search and rescue efforts are underway to locate the second.
Rescue teams and local administration continue relief operations in the affected areas. The Met Office has advised residents in vulnerable regions to take preventive measures and stay updated on weather developments to avoid potential flood-related dangers.
