ISLAMABAD: Amid ongoing monsoon rains across the country, Rawal Dam’s water level has exceeded 1750.70 feet, prompting the Islamabad district administration to schedule the opening of its spillways at 6am on Monday.
Rescue, security, and medical teams have been stationed at key locations for rapid response, and the public has been advised to steer clear of the dam’s vicinity unless necessary.
Meanwhile, Tarbela Dam’s spillways were opened at 7:30pm today to discharge surplus water. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) had preemptively notified all concerned departments. Authorities are maintaining close coordination to manage the situation and ensure public safety.
