PESHAWAR: After prolonged delay, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Monday issued notifications of appointment of 16 vice chancellors at the province public sector universities.
According to the appointment letters, the KP government appointed 16 vice chancellors and filled the vacant posts of VCs at different universities.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Higher Education Department has issued appointment letters for Vice Chancellors.
On the occasion of filling the vacant posts, which is considered to be a sign of relief for academia, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan said it had been their objective to improve higher education in the province and address the issues on priority.

He said the government was striving to overcome all the challenges faced by the KP Universities.
Mr Khan added that he anticipated the appointment of vice chancellors would enable universities to devote their full energy to the welfare of both students and faculty.
The KP Universities had been facing multiple problems for a long time owing lack of VCs at the educational institutions.
