Religious zeal marks Eid ul-Fitr observances in khyber Pakhtunkhwa

PESHAWAR: Eid ul-Fitr was celebrated with religious devotion and traditional enthusiasm across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the provincial capital Peshawar, where large congregations gathered for special prayers.

The main Eid prayer in Peshawar was held at the historic Charsadda Road Eidgah, attended by thousands of worshippers. Other key prayer venues included the Sunehri Mosque, Mahabat Khan Mosque, Qasim Ali Khan Mosque, and Spain Jamaat, where imams delivered sermons before leading the congregational prayers.

Following the prayers, special supplications were offered for the stability and prosperity of Pakistan. Citizens exchanged warm embraces and Eid greetings, embodying the spirit of unity and festivity.

Security remained tight across the province, with police personnel conducting thorough checks at mosque entrances to ensure public safety.

Prominent political figures, including KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, offered Eid prayers in their hometown of Dera Ismail Khan. Meanwhile, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman attended prayers in Abdul Khel, Jamaat-e-Islami leader Sirajul Haq in Dir, and Awami National Party’s Aimal Wali Khan in Wali Bagh. Members of the provincial cabinet also participated in Eid prayers in their respective constituencies, praying for the nation’s security and progress.
