The salaries of the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Chairman of the Senate have been increased by over 600 per cent, according to a recent notification.
Details indicate that the government has issued this extraordinary increase, setting the monthly salary for both positions at 1.3 million. Additionally, each will receive a supplementary allowance of 50 per cent of their new salary. This significant salary increase will take effect from January 1, 2025.
Previously, the government approved an increase of 519,000 in the monthly salaries of parliamentarians. The notification regarding this salary increase was issued by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and is dated May 29.
