Samarbagh Honor Killing: Police arrest two suspects

LOWER-DIR: An 18-year-old girl, Naima Bibi, was murdered in an alleged “honor killing” in Samarbagh, Lower Dir. Police confirmed she was strangled and secretly buried at night to conceal evidence. Two suspects—Lal Zaman and Yasin, both local residents—were arrested after confessing to the crime.

The accused admitted they targeted Naima over suspicions of her relationship with a boy, Zahirullah, whom they also attacked. Zahirullah survived with serious injuries and escaped. Police registered a case (No. 106) under murder, evidence tampering, and honor-killing provisions (PPC Sections 302, 311, 200, 201).

Lower Dir District Police Office (DPO) stated the investigation is ongoing, vowing to “ensure justice” and protect citizens’ rights.
