Saudi Arabia launches cooling projects for Hajj 2025 pilgrims

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has launched a major development plan to improve the Hajj 2025 experience.

The focus of the new initiative is to ease the Hajj 2025 journey for pilgrims and ensure comfort, safety, and smooth movement at Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah.

The plan includes shaded rest areas to protect pilgrims from extreme summer heat. Authorities have shaded 50,000 square meters of pedestrian paths in Mina. In Arafat, a cooling and shading system now covers 60,000 square meters.

At Jabal Al Rahma, officials installed mist fans and canopies over 785 square meters. These features aim to reduce heat stress during the pilgrimage.

Deputy Governor Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz chaired the first Hajj 1446 AH committee meeting. Officials reviewed detailed preparations for the next Hajj season. The efforts align with Vision 2030 reforms to enhance pilgrim services.

In Muzdalifah, Phase Two of the Holy Sites Path Project has improved safety and access over 170,000 square meters. Rest zones now span 28,000 square meters along the routes, giving pilgrims places to rest.

At Namira Mosque, a major cooling project now covers 85,000 square meters using advanced technologies. To promote sustainability, the government has started planting 10,000 trees across pilgrimage areas for shade and better air quality during the Hajj 20025 season.

Authorities have upgraded hydration points with 400 new water coolers. Emergency response has improved with 86 first aid centers at key sites. In Mina, officials set up 135 pressure tank sites to support vital water services.

Saudi officials say these steps will make the spiritual journey easier, especially in hot weather.
