RIYADH: The Shawwal moon has been sighted in Saudi Arabia, and the people of the Kingdom would celebrate Eid tomorrow (Sunday).

However, the Shawwal moon was not sighted in several countries, including Malaysia, Australia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, India, and Brunei, meaning they will observe Eid-ul-Fitr on Monday, March 31.

In Pakistan, the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has predicted that Eid is likely to be celebrated on March 31. According to a SUPARCO statement, based on scientific calculations, the crescent moon is expected to be visible in Pakistan on March 30.

“As a result, Ramazan is expected to last 29 days, with Eid-ul-Fitr likely to fall on March 31, 2025,” the commission stated.

Earlier, astronomers had also forecasted that Pakistan would celebrate Eid on March 31, predicting that the holy month of Ramazan would comprise 29 days.
