ISLAMABAD: Amid rising tensions between Pakistan and India, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Adel Al-Jubeir, has arrived in Islamabad here on Friday.
According to state media, Al-Jubeir was received by senior officials, including the Saudi Ambassador and other high-level dignitaries.
The Saudi minister is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his visit.
It is worth noting that as tensions escalated between Pakistan and India, the foreign ministers of both Iran and Saudi Arabia visited India a day earlier, where they held meetings with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
During his visit to New Delhi, Adel Al-Jubeir discussed matters of mutual interest with Jaishankar.
