Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs is arriving Pakistan today Friday

ISLAMABAD: To calm down the situation aroused after Pakistan-India tensions, the Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs is arriving in Pakistan tomorrow Friday.

Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir will meet his Pakistani counterpart tomorrow and will also meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The visiting Minister of State for Foreign Affairs was in the Indian capital today. Earlier, on Thursday, 8 May, Al-Jubeir held discussions with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. The focus of the meeting was de-escalation between India and Pakistan following the strikes. Jaishankar later described the talks as “good” and said he shared “India’s perspectives on firmly countering terrorism.” The Saudi minister’s visit coincided with that of Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who arrived in Delhi for pre-scheduled diplomatic talks. The presence of top diplomats from key Gulf nations underscores the significance of recent developments and efforts to stabilise the region. Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi also arrived in Pakistan on an official visit. During his visit, the Iranian Foreign Minister had met President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and other top leadership.
